When to schedule your maternity session
The ideal time for a maternity photo session is between weeks 28 and 34 of pregnancy. During this period, your bump has a beautifully round, visible shape, but you still feel comfortable moving and aren’t too fatigued.
Of course, every pregnancy is different, so we’ll find the best timing together based on how you’re feeling. The key is not to wait too long—in the final months, fatigue increases and it becomes harder to enjoy the session feeling relaxed and at ease.
How it works
Discovery call
Before the session, we’ll connect to get to know each other and understand your expectations. You’ll tell me your story, how you’re experiencing the pregnancy, and what kind of photos you’d love to have. This allows me to design a session tailored just for you.
Choosing the location
Together, we’ll choose the perfect setting for your photos. It could be your home for an intimate, personal atmosphere, a park or natural setting to make the most of natural light, or a meaningful location that’s part of your story.
The photo session
The session lasts 1 to 2 hours depending on the package you choose, in a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll naturally guide you into poses that beautifully showcase your bump, moments of interaction with your partner, and spontaneous gestures that tell the story of your journey. The goal is to make you feel completely at ease and capture authentic emotions.
Editing and delivery
After the session, I carefully select and edit the best images in my creative style. You’ll receive your photos in high resolution, ready to print and share.
Types of maternity sessions
Outdoor maternity session
We use natural light to create evocative, romantic photos. Ideal for couples who love nature and want something less conventional.
At-home maternity session
An intimate, personal option. I photograph you in your everyday surroundings—in the nursery you’re preparing, or simply relaxing on the couch. Perfect if you prefer the privacy and comfort of your own home.
Who to include in your session
Your partner
I always recommend involving your partner. Pregnancy is a shared experience, and photos together tell the story of your anticipation as a couple. Some shots will be just of the mum-to-be, others of you both.
Older siblings
If you have other children, we can absolutely include them. Kids bring spontaneity and joy to the photos, and it’s a special moment for them to meet and “say hello” to their little brother or sister on the way.
Pets
Your dog or cat is part of the family too. If you’d like to include them, they’re more than welcome.
What to wear for your maternity session
I recommend outfits that showcase your bump and make you feel beautiful and comfortable. Both fitted dresses that highlight your belly and soft, flowing shirts for a more casual feel work wonderfully.
Neutral colors and solid tones photograph best for timeless images. Avoid overly busy patterns that can draw attention away from the real star: you and your bump.
For couple shots, we’ll coordinate your looks with your partner without being too matchy—aim for a harmonious color palette.
Always bring a change of outfit for variety in your photos.

I don't feel beautiful with my bump—will the photos turn out well?
Pregnancy transforms your body in ways that can make some women feel self-conscious. My job is to make you feel beautiful and celebrate your motherhood. Every mum-to-be I’ve photographed has been surprised and moved by how beautiful she looked in her photos.
Do I need professional hair and makeup?
Not necessarily. A natural look is perfectly fine. But if you’d like to feel extra polished, I can recommend trusted makeup artists and hairstylists.
What if the baby arrives before the session?
This is exactly why I recommend not waiting too long. If for any reason the session can’t take place, we’ll find a solution together—such as a newborn family session instead.
